Registration & Login

 

How do I register for Stafford Online?

On a desktop or laptop, click ‘SRBS Online’ in the top navigation bar at srbs.co.uk. On a mobile, tap the burger menu in the top right corner and select ‘The Stafford Online’. This opens the welcome registration page.

Click ‘Register’ and follow the on-screen steps. Once you have signed up, we will send you a text or email with your User ID and Activation Key. To activate your account, follow the login process on the welcome page.

Please note that you set all passwords during registration. We do not store or send your passwords for security, so choose one that is secure and memorable only to you.

What is my Activation Key and how do I use it?

Your registration text or email contains a single-use Activation Key — a series of letters and numbers. You’ll need this when you activate your registration. It will be requested after you’ve entered your User ID and Password.

Once you’ve successfully activated your registration, you won’t need the Activation Key again. If you forget your password, we’ll send a new Activation Key via email to reset your details. Please use this new key — not the original one — as it is single-use.

What is my User ID and where can I find it?

Your User ID is in the text or email sent to you when you first registered for the online service. It cannot be changed, as it is unique to you.

If you’ve forgotten it and no longer have the original message, please email us at online@srbs.co.uk and we’ll help you regain access.

What should I use as my password?

You set your own password during registration. We won’t be able to see it. Your password must meet the following criteria:

•        Minimum 8 characters, maximum 64 characters

•        At least one number

•        At least one special character (e.g. !£$%&*)

•        A mixture of at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter

Your password is case-sensitive when logging in.

I’ve come to a screen saying ‘Your user has been suspended’. What should I do?

If you enter incorrect login details three times, your account will be suspended. Even if you then enter the correct details, you will not be able to log in while the account is blocked.

Please call our member services team on 01785 223212. They will ask a few security questions and reset your account to pending, after which you can log in successfully.

What should I do if I forget my User ID and password?

Click the ‘Forgotten Details’ button on the welcome page and follow the on-screen steps. We recommend choosing a different password to your original one. After clicking ‘Reset Password’, you’ll receive an email with a new Activation Key to unlock your account.

Please note: you must reactivate your account within 21 days of receiving your Activation Key.

The system keeps rejecting my login details — can I re-register?

The system will only reject your details if something has been entered incorrectly. It won’t tell you specifically what is wrong, so please contact our member services team who can talk you through the login process.

For security reasons, we cannot issue multiple User IDs, so re-registration is not possible.

The website doesn’t seem to be working on my device. Why?

This is usually caused by an outdated internet browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge). We recommend using SRBS Online on a desktop PC. If you are using a tablet, please use Google Chrome rather than Safari.

Managing Your Account

 

Can I change my address online?

Yes. Complete the Change of Address form (available on our website) and send us a copy or scan of it via the secure messaging service in SRBS Online. Go to ‘Messages’ then ‘New’ on the left-hand menu of your Homepage.

Can I change my phone number and email?

Yes. Send us a secure message via SRBS Online with your new details. Go to ‘Messages’ then ‘Compose’ on the left-hand menu of your Homepage.

When does the Society’s business year start and end?

The Stafford Building Society’s business year starts on 1 November and runs until 31 October the following year.

Payments & Withdrawals

 

Can I pay money into my account online?

Yes. Use the following bank transfer details. Please include the correct reference number — without it, funds will be returned.

 

Personal/Business account:

Please select the appropriate account type with us.

Payee:

The name on the account with us (first name & surname of the person, or the full business name).

Sort code:

Roll/Reference number:

Your 10-digit Stafford Building Society reference number (including any capital letters — do not include dashes).

 

Why doesn’t my money show in my account straight away?

Money sent via bank transfer may take until the close of business the following working day to appear in SRBS Online. If you’re concerned a payment hasn’t arrived after this time, please call us on 01785 223212.

How long will it take to open my account?

It can take up to 5 working days to open your savings account and post out your passbook.

Can I make a withdrawal via SRBS Online?

Not currently. SRBS Online is currently a viewing platform only, and we still require your passbook to move money out. You can use the Messages section to request the relevant forms to be sent to your registered email address. Our member support team can advise you on how to make a postal transaction request.

Can I set notice on my account via SRBS Online?

Yes. Send a message via SRBS Online informing the branch team that you wish to set notice, and include your preferred closure method. After we’ve set the notice, you’ll receive a compliment slip to your home address confirming the withdrawal dates.

A week before your withdrawal period, send your passbook to:

Once the first day of the notice period begins, we’ll complete the withdrawal or closure and return the passbook to you by post.
